CURRICULUM WORKSHOP FOR VOCATIONAL SCHOOLS IN COOPERATION WITH MONE AND IGAM MALALA PROJECT
On the first day of the Curriculum Workshop for Vocational Schools in Cooperation with MONE and IGAM Malala Project which was held on 18-22 November 2019, opening speeches and presentations were made on the contribution of vocational education to education and employment.
Middle East Representative of Malala Fund Miriam Azar and Champion of Gulmakai and IGAM President Metin Çorabatır made their opening speeches at the workshop which started with the demonstration of IGAM Malala Project Publicity Video.
Melik Akın and Cansu Albayrak from UNICEF made the first presentation on ‘Children Who Are at School Age but not Register to Any School , Child Labour and the Role of Vocational Education and talked about the UNICEF activities. After the presentation of Prof. Dr. Ayşe Şule Çağlar about ‘Child Rights Based Program Development’, Program Development Specialist Prof. Dr. Ahmet Mahiroğlu explained vocational technical education practices in Turkey and told his criticisms.
The last presentation was given by Mehmet Salih Canbal, Head of Programs and Teaching Materials Department of the Ministry of National Education. Canbal stated that they analyze the practices in the world in relation to the vocational technical education curriculum and that they aim to raise individuals who feel themselves strong.
